I've been away from the studio for so long it seems - doesn't the holiday time get busy?
Fun, yes....but busy busy!
So today I made a date with a paint brush and cranked out lots of painted papers....which became a couple of single signature journals. That's a lot of painting paper I tell ya!
I doubt I'll get much more time for paint and play this week, so I wanted to wish you all the merriest of holidays!
AND a very creative new year!
By the way.....anyone else out there choosing a "word" or "theme" for the new year? I've done it for a couple of years now and I swear to you it's a compass....a true north.
I went through a couple of try on words - One week it was SURRENDER, the next it was ALIGN. But I know what it is for sure now......it's SOULTRUTH. I know, it's made up and it's mine! Makes me actually shiver when I say it - so it must be right. Drop me a comment and let me know your's!

Ah, how I wish I was with you playing in paint!
I am debating my word for 2012 - it's between Clarity and Surrender ... am thinking it will be the first.
2009 I was Fearless (yes, before there was Fearless Painting!) and 2010 it was Shine although my experience was more in line with glowing ... (or radiating?)

your painted papers are super WOW.. and something I feel a yearning to do again, really soon! very new at it & shared my first pages on a blog post in May. i am always excited to try new techniques! also into stamp carving so think i'll test that next with paint & paper!

My guiding word for 2012 is authenticity. I intend to be authentic in my art, in my interactions with others, in what I say and what I do, in every aspect of my life. It is the only way that I can be true to me, so I intend to be authentic with myself first and foremost.
