Why do I have to do all my dreaded chores on Monday - as I'd done for years? I don't! I could spread the stuff around-perhaps do one or two chores on the other days of the week....then I could have an entire day of bliss on Mondays - Mojo Mondays!
So that's what I did. Now I do nothing but what "fills the well" on my day. Typically, that involves hours in the art studio-and the pup is invited too. It's become his favorite day.
Yesterday, after attending the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach, I was inspired to try pastels for the first time. I saw a girl who used them in her gorgeous art journals, so I took a trip to the art store for some cheap ones - just $4.50 - and some spray fixative. Out came the rough brown paper sketch pad I had stashed in a drawer.
If you're a regular reader, you know I'm whatcha call a newbie artist...so don't judge me, just let me play....

You may *be* a newbie artist, chica, but your art is lovely and doesn't look like it comes from a "newbie artist" at all!
